But be aware that o2 sensors could be picking up a intake airleak or exhaust airleak and running engine rich. They can go through all the sensor values, reset perameters and give you a printout of all of the information. That happened last September when the car was making 2, horsepower at the wheels. When it does this you get flames from exhaust poping sound. I used to get lots of backfire, but once I tuned my car, got rid of exhaust leaks, I only get little pops on high rpm decel. At present, the ETS team has pushed the power to 3, wheel hp, or roughly 3, hp at the crank! Exhaust backfire ,

Or is it the oxygen sensor? I reckon it’s a great sound on occasion. Fair warning, headphone users beware of the sound. Fixed the leak and the popping went away. I heard that Nissan turbo engines love to do that. That happened last September when the car was making 2, horsepower at the wheels. What baackfire you think is causing this?
Everyweek, I put about litres of petrol and lasts me for Kms, so it’s close to litres per Kms. Lotus kicks off revival with confirmation of electric hypercar. You’re meant to check and replace stock o2 sensors every ,km. Used Acura NSX.
However, the backfire is only occassional like once a week and normally happens when I shift from 2nd to 3rd around rpms. Thanks rukus, for clearing that up. Only 75 emoji are allowed. My gtr had an atmo bov, had to plumb it back for compliance since then it backfires on up changes only when the bov opens ie high boost I think when the air decompresses it back flows through the afms causing rich mixture because the afms cant tell the reverse flow from forward.

Gte fuel goes through the exhaust. Only time my car threw flames from exhaust was due to stuffed o2 sensor.
In the video above, we see the GT-R on the dyno after some changes made throughout The car rips its way toward peak power and the backfire appears to not only shake the camera but the room, too. It’s really annoying especially when you’re giving it a bit to kick some ass. The backfird and the sound is awesome, and scares the heck out of some ricers behind you sometimes.
